WHERE DO I START?
1. STEP ONE - Background check
All volunteers must pass an annual (yep, you need to resubmit the form every year) in order to volunteer anywhere within the Sherwood School District.
2. STEP TWO - Connect with opportunities
Complete the Volunteer Registration
New parents: send your name and email address to: [email protected]. You will be entered into the system, and sent an invitation to input your information and indicate your interests. Returning parents: You need to make sure your HelpCounter information is up-to-date with contact information, student information and your volunteer interests. Our volunteer coordinator will update the opportunities throughout the year. |
3. STEP THREE - Track your hours
When you come to volunteer:
WONDER WHY TRACKING HOURS MATTERS? Tracking hours is important because it goes toward our State rating and also impacts Matching Funds we receive from some businesses.
If you are working from home, or need to edit your volunteer hours, you can do so from the HelpCounter App or www.helpcounter.net/volunteer.
- Pick up your name badge and optional lanyard just inside the office door on the wall. Badges must be worn visibly so that students and staff know that you are an approved volunteer.
- Sign in on the "volunteer check-in" computer. The HelpCounter system makes it easy to track who is in the building in case of an emergency.
